With a current lack of a better place to compile this information, I recalled this little corner in the internet I can call my own. A recent life change (Graduating into the real world) has taken place and I've been forced to reevaluate my path and thus my destination. After stepping off onto numerous trails and dead-ends, I've finally found what it is I want to commit myself to.
1. I will apply to Masters and PhD programs in Clinical Psychology.
2. I will have a private practice specializing in interpersonal relationships and self awareness and growth.
3. I will also aid in familial counseling in families going through divorce. Too many times, the children are not given the proper outlets to vent and be heard.
4. I will volunteer in veteran hospitals, helping those with PTSD to heal.
5. I will integrate animal therapy into my treatments when appropriate.
6. I will write a book. Not a thesis or a psychological paper but a book.
7. I will live by the morals I say I believe in, putting an end to hypocrisy.

Dublin
Corinne and I made it safely to Dublin yesterday morning after a long day of flying. We had a layover in Philly (the delay from Obama being at the airport caused us to have to run to the next plane) and then another in Birmingham, UK. At the airport, we were the first people to the gate (even before the crew) in a near empty terminal with ten minutes until departure time so we were a little scared the flight didnt even exist. Low and behold as the crowd and crew come waltzing in and we were led down to the tarmac and up the rickety stairs onto our one hour flight over to Dublin, Ireland.
We took the bus into town and after some confusion (street signs are rare here), we made it to our hostel. Our room was being cleaned so we left our bags and went to wander the streets of Temple Bar. After a while, our jet lag overpowered any excitement we had as we returned back to the hostel for a rest. A late dinner of traditional Irish food was interesting. I don't think Ireland is especially known for its meals, or at least I hope not.
Today we woke up early and had a complimentary breakfast before heading out to town again. We wandered up to Trinity College campus, taking lots of photos along the way. From there we went to a few churches (both big and small) and got a history lesson on a free tour where we got to touch "the lucky stone" for good health. Finally, we ended our afternoon at the Guinness Storehouse (factory) with a tour of the entire stout making process complete with a pint of the foamy beer at the top of the panoramic building. Aside from the fabulous views, both Corinne and I were pooped. We made our way home, picked up some cheap sandwiches and laid down for a rest.
Tomorrow we leave on our 3 day tour of Southern Ireland. We'll be staying in Killarny and Doolin with stops along the way at the Cliffs of Moher, Blarney castle and others too. You can see the tour info here.
That's all for now- Cheers!

Los bastardos...

Am I the only one a little put off by the NBA Jersey changes celebrating their "third annual Noche Latina event — a program that recognizes the NBA's fans and players from across Latin America and U.S. Hispanic communities."
In theory, the celebration of diversity sounds great. The "Noche Latina" patches for the event are expected and a normal promotional addition to any jersey. However, where things get a little hazy for me is the name changes on the jerseys themselves. Or...name additions. Is it just me or is the addition of, and only of, the word "Los" to the team names a bit stereotypical and offensive? Why didn't they change the names to their full Spanish translation? Nueva York kind of works... but El Heat? Los Rockets? Los Bulls?! COME ON! They might as well have said Los Rocketos! How about Los Toros? Sounds more appropriate to me. In fact, the original jerseys don't even have the word "the." And its not like they just added the word to the existing shirts, these are brand new templates.
I support the celebration of different cultures... but not in a half assed manner that comes off more as mockery.

just so you know...
I know I haven't been keeping up with this... for that I am sorry.
I've been meaning to write more- in fact I was even keeping a list of possible topics. Unfortunately, that list got deleted by accident and so now I'm starting from scratch. I've started a new list but, as is the case with most new lists, it doesn't consist of much...yet.
